Once you have purchased the aluminium windows, you may want to get them painted. The colour should be one that you liked. Nevertheless, during the painting process, painting accidents may occur. Sometimes the project may seem fine in the first place but once it is completed you might just realized that it might not be what you wanted. This unintended painting mistake then has to be removed but every step has to be done very slowly and cautiously. If the mistake just happened, the paint can be easily removed but for accidents that has happened for quite some time, one might require some time along with the right tools to complete the whole removal process.
Firstly, check if there are any dust or dirt on the painted aluminium window, and if there are, do wipe them away with a clean and soft cloth. Remember to equip oneself with some essential protection gears such as goggles and rubber gloves when in this process. Then, use a small knife and tilt it at an angle to scrape the paint out from the aluminium window carefully and slowly. If you do not have a knife, you can also take a rag and wrap it around a blade to scrape paint from the shutter. This way, you will be required to put in extra strength to remove the paint. At the same time, the pressure used should be a balances one as well because too much pressure will cause the aluminium to be scratched.
After that, repeat the steps as above until all the paint has been removed from the aluminium shutter. Do an overall check until no remaining paint stain is found. And last but not least, take a cloth and spray some WD40 into it. Use the cloth to polish the aluminium and wipe the shutter thoroughly. If one finds that one’s time is insufficient, one can spray WD40 onto the cloth once again and proceed to perform the above actions again until the polishing process is deemed finished.
You might be in the mindset to simply purchase new replacement windows for your home rather than repairing the old ones. This is fine, but make sure you shop around as the prices often differ greatly.
